L'Envol

Ascension: To rise, to gain height; To climb a high place; To attain higher and higher values.

This series of works evokes notions of elevation, mental freedom and the promise of another place where hope, freedom and well-being thrive. An idealized state where the human condition would be sweeter, or the sensation of freedom and independence greater.

The work meets this promise of a journey towards another state of consciousness and presence in the world. It deals with the notion of reaching upwards, of defying gravity, of leaving our physical, horizontal space to reach an omniscient space where a sense of calm and emancipation reigns.
